Hello, all.
I received a request for a MK III rear sight. The request came from the US side of the border in a post on another site. He said he is having trouble getting access or approval for this site so I though I would see if anyone can help him out. I know in the past I have had success with the good folks here.

Sadly, the site is all but defunct - almost no activity.  Most members have moved on.  By the way, I never set the site up with the idea that it was the place to come to if Ross parts were needed.  However, over the years, that has been the motivation for many requests to join the site - someone has been in need of a Ross part or parts.  The most typical scenario is they have picked up a Bubba's rifle on the cheap, and now they want to restore it on the cheap.  I'm not saying every request for parts fit this category but enough did that it eroded my enthusiasm for the site.  I set out with hope that people would be after knowledge rather than parts.

It seems the main use of the site is data mining by various, "bots" or whatever they are called.

Yes, I understand that and told him that was the case. But still if a guy needs parts it does seem this might be the best place to locate them. I'm not sure that is the worst motivation- to keep a Ross is shooting condition. Often when someone comes across a Bubba'd rifle and needs parts they develop an interest in learning because of what the knowledgeable guys have written.

There is certainly a lot of good information here. I have learned a lot. As a relative newcomer it has given me an education. I wish I could file it all away somehow so all this info isn't lost to others who come after. Those who know these rifles well are getting on up in years...

Cheers.
